Why is this publication important in experience research?

A seminal book investigating a positive experience called experience. Highly cited by experience researchers across disciplines, especially those who are interested in psychology of experience and experience design. This book has also been an important piece of work in the development of positive psychology.
According to this book, flow experience is “a state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter; the experience is so enjoyable that people will continue to do it even at great cost, for the sheer sake of doing it”. This book sees flow as the optimal experience, therefore experience designers want to understand it. Several measurement tools exist for measuring flow experience.
