Experience Research Society (EXPRESSO for short) is a not-for-profit international association registered in Finland. More information on the purpose and bylaws of EXPRESSO are available at https://experienceresearchsociety.org/about.
This privacy policy will explain how our organization uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our website.
What data do we collect?
EXPRESSO collects the following data:
- Personal identification information (Name, email address, billing address)
- Personal expertise/interests information regarding experience research
How do we collect your data?
You directly provide EXPRESSO with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:
- Register as a member of EXPRESSO
- Register online or place an order for any of our events or services.
- Voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on any of our message boards or via email.
- Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.
EXPRESSO may also receive your data indirectly from the following sources:
- Organizers of events that are affiliated with EXPRESSO.
How will we use your data?
EXPRESSO collects your data so that we can:
- Manage your account.
- Process your registrations and orders.
- Inform you about EXPRESSO events and services we think you might like.
- Present your information in the Member Directory.
When EXPRESSO processes your registrations, it may send your data to, and also use the resulting information from, credit reference agencies to prevent fraudulent purchases.
How do we store your data?
EXPRESSO securely stores your data at eco-friendly GreenGeeks hosting service, https://www.greengeeks.com.
EXPRESSO will keep your membership registration information for the duration of your membership, and for one year after the membership has expired. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by removing the membership information from the members’ database.
Marketing
EXPRESSO exists to serve its members through events and services that help the members to get more information about experience research and to connect to experience researchers across continents and disciplines.
To serve the above purpose, EXPRESSO informs the members and the public of the events, news, and services serving the purpose of the association. When registering as a member, you agree to be added to the relevant email lists targeted to serve the members. EXPRESSO would like to send you information about events and services that we provide for members and the public, as well as those provided by our close collaborators, such as 7 Experience Summit organizers or related subcontractor companies. EXPRESSO does not share your personal information with our sponsors unless you agree to share your information in the Member Directory.
You have the right at any time to stop us from contacting you for the above purposes.

What are your data protection rights?
EXPRESSO would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), according to which every EXPRESSO member is entitled to the following:
The right to access – You have the right to request EXPRESSO for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
The right to rectification – You have the right to request that EXPRESSO correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request EXPRESSO to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
The right to erasure – You have the right to request that EXPRESSO erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that EXPRESSO restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to EXPRESSO’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to data portability – You have the right to request that EXPRESSO transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
